Spring is finally here and so we’re doing a bit of spring cleaning around the forums this month tidying away the dead / abandoned threads as well as making a few fresh additions.

So straight down to business!

DISNEY’S OZ THE GREAT & POWERFUL
After much discussion, the staff have decided to include characters from Oz the Great and Powerful in our ‘Ultimate List’ of playable characters here on Fant!

However, would-be applicants need to be aware that it is canon characters from Oz the Great & Powerful’ only who will be permitted, and that we will continue to disallow any other Oz-canon variants (i.e. the original Wizard of Oz movie / Wicked / Return to Oz / the Wiz / the Oz novels, etc) and that any subsequently approved characters from Oz the Great and Powerful will be expected to adhere to their movie canon. This decision is final. If you are tempted to apply for an Oz the Great & Powerful character and are at all unsure of what is and isn’t canon, please contact the staff via the Walt Disney account before beginning your application.


NEW LOCATION BOARDS
With new movies come new locations, and so to complement the new Oz movie, we have added the ‘Land of Oz’ board as a new playable location, you can find it in the Kingdom of Fantasia section.

Additionally, a new board titled ‘The Open Road’ has been added to the Americana section. It’s purpose is to contain any America-based locations that do not already have their own playable sub-forums.


IC CHAT BOX
A link to the IC (in character) CBox has been added to the sidebar menu, and all staff approved / accepted characters are welcome to visit and chat ‘in character’. This move is intended to ‘free up’ Fant!Chat for more serious matters such as thread planning and discussion, and for our group activities such as movie nights.

Playing in the IC box can often help a flagging muse and spark off ideas for new threads, often with characters you may never have ‘spoken’ with before. It’s not a private party in there so if you feel the urge, jump in! Do remember though that although playing in the IC Cbox can be a lot of fun, activity in there does not count towards a character’s monthly IC post quota and so it is your responsibility to ensure that you do your ‘proper’ posting too. This is even more important if you have threads that need replying to and yet are seen by your thread mates to be constantly goofing off in the IC chat. People get tired of this kind of thing very quickly, so do try to strike the right balance. Please bear in mind the rules that cover the rest of the board also apply to the IC chat, so as always, please play nice!:)


And finally -

APRIL 1 - 7 = ACTIVITY CHECK
Just a heads-up to let you all know that the next AC will be held at the beginning of April, and that while we understand that this is a busy time of year for many of our members with the demands of school eating into free time and sapping the muse, we hope that the Easter break will see an ease in the pressure and allow everyone to relax a little and enjoy life.

The April AC will be a basic ‘role call’ and we ask that all of our members please complete it as it saves us a lot of time that would otherwise be spent chasing up ‘missing’ and inactive members and inquiring whether or not they are still in the game and wanting to play their characters. If you know you are not going to be around to reply when the AC is up and running, then please drop us a PM to give us a heads up or else leave a thread in the Members section and we’ll count you as exempt this time around. Failure to complete the AC may well result in you losing your character(s) so if you want to keep playing, please take part.
